I've long been a fan of "very old books" because, you know, they're the best. And now, it turns out, "very old records" are also the best! I should've known :)
Jimmy and I are frequent flea market, antique & vintage market shoppers. I would say that easily over half of our household furnishings are from flea/antique/vintage markets, inherited from family, or found at a yard sale.
I mean, shoot - why buy new plastic-looking Christmas ornaments (for way too much) when you can get cool vintage ornaments all the time at a flea market? I don't know why anyone would want to do that. I don't want my house to look plastic.
Anyway, we were always seeing albums, and we kept saying to each other that we ought to get a record player. Turns out, great minds really do think alike. He bought me one for my birthday, and I bought him one for his retirement day. The very same turntable - same brand, same model...identical. :)
Anyway, we returned one of them and we have had a ton of fun listening to some great albums since then!
Do you have a record player?
