Tulip Cottage is the next design in our preview of the Nashville Needlework Market:
This design started when I was looking through my precious Victoria Magazine spring issues. The photographs of the flowers are always beautiful, and always very inspiring. When I'm in the mood to draw some flowers, that is where I often turn.
I did a little doodling in my sketchbook and the idea of a different perspective for a sampler sprang out of my sketches.
The model is stitched on 36 ct. Winter Brew by R&R Reproductions, and is stitched using Classic Colorworks, Gentle Art Sampler Threads, and Weeks Dye Works flosses. I stitched one strand over two.
CC - Cherry Tomato, Holly Berry, Rosy Glow, Chopped Chives, Straw Hat
GAST - Baby Spinach
WDW - Daffodil, Charlotte's Pink, Honeysuckle, Beige, Cocoa, Swiss Chocolate, Whitewash
Stitch count: 140 x 184
Finished size, as stitched on 36 ct. approx: 7 3/4" x 10 1/8"
I also think the little row of berry baskets at the bottom would make a great pincushion or small all by themselves!
Release date: March 4, 2022
I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
