This sweet little heart is a companion piece to our Friendly Blooms pattern.
Here's a little peek into my design process:
When I finish stitching a new design, I keep it in the project bag I've been using and place it in a basket that holds all my designs that need finishing.
I tend to keep everything in the bag throughout the finishing and publishing process, including my working notes, the linen tag and the floss ring with all the threads on it.
It's not until that design is on the verge of release that I empty the bag. I put the paperwork in a file folder and I hang the floss ring on a spare hook where I keep all my working floss.
Sometimes it stays there a long time.
Sometimes I walk by it dozens of times and think "ooh, pretty!"
Sometimes the little design I'm working on just isn't working in the colorway I originally used, and I grab the little floss ring and think "yep!"
It's funny how you can never tell what sort of process you're in for when you start a new design. Some of them hum along just as you imagined and turn out exactly like the picture in your head. Some of them get tweeked a bit, but not too much fussing.
And then some go through several iterations and basically fight with you to get them right. But when you do...it's all sunshine and butterflies!
Here are the design details:
Forget Me Not is stitched on 32 count Linen by Weeks Dye Works.
It's stitched 2 over 2 with Weeks Dye Works and Classic Colorworks flosses. (The very same color palette as Friendly Blooms. I stitched both designs with the same set of threads.)
WDW - Ivy, Americana, Jay Bird, Emerald
CC - Wavy Navy, Blue Beadboard
I added a favorite vintage button from my collection and trimmed it with Chenille trim in Vanilla by Lady Dot Creates.
The back is a navy blue print from Bonnie & Camille's At Home collection. It's stuffed with polyfil...perfect for tossing! :)
Stitch count: 70 x 69
If you prefer to stitch it on another count, here are some finished dimensions:
28 count - 5 3/8 x 4 7/8 inches
32 count - 4 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches
36 count - 4 1/8 x 3 3/4 inches
40 count - 3 3/4 x 3 3/8 inches
Remember, you may need to adjust your floss requirements if stitching on a different count, or if using 1 strand instead of 2. Your LNS is always happy to help you kit up your perfect project!
Supporting our cross stitch shops and community is a primary concern for me, so I always encourage you to purchase my designs from your favorite local or online needlework shop. It's for this reason that you won't see my newest designs available for sale on my own website for a few months after they are released.

I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
