Our first preview for Nashville is a soft and very feminine sampler, Faded Letters Bound.
I love to read collections of letters. They give an intimate and personal glimpse into a person or persons, as well as history. I've read Harry Truman's letters to Bess, C.S. Lewis' letters to everybody, the letters between the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (he really was rather an adolescent), JRR Tolkien's letters and several other volumes of letters.
I've saved several letters and cards that were written to me over my life, but even in my youth the written letter was a fading thing. Letters have been sent and received for many purposes for many centuries, and now in the span of a few decades it has all almost disappeared. What a shame.
But the beauty of the written word can never be erased and that is something to celebrate. This is a very subtle and traditional sampler with floral and heart motifs, vines and of course, a packet of letters.
