When Jimmy and I were first married, we lived in a little cottage down the road from a very nice neighborhood. Perfect for walking your dog.
Each evening after dinner, we would take Shepherd, our 3 or 4 year old Collie, for a walk around the neighborhood. We had a little route -- down this street, turn around, back down, turn at the corner, down to the end and around the loop, head for home.
Most evenings when we got to the “loop” part of the walk, we would meet an older gentlemen walking his 3 dogs. He lived in the house on the corner. At first, we would pass each other and smile, give a nod, a “good evening” and keep on walking.
After a while, we almost expected to see each other, and we began to make remarks to each other. Comments about weather, walking and the like were the usual remarks. But one evening (I think it was very cold) we were passing and Jimmy made a remark about the things we do for our pets. He responded and said, “All dogs are precious”. I think the love with which he said it had a lot to do with how it stuck in our memories.
It’s stuck with us all this time and we say it often. Usually when we see a cute dog, or somebody walking 3 or 4 dogs at once. It’s become part of our family story.

Supporting our cross stitch shops and community is a primary concern for me, so I always encourage you to purchase my designs from your favorite local or online needlework shop. It's for this reason that you won't see my newest designs available for sale on my own website for a few months after they are released.
