Take a stroll along Gingerbread Row

Shall we take a little stroll along a charming little street? It's Gingerbread Row - our newest design!

I actually had intended to introduce this design at Market this year as a surprise. But life and a medium-sized emergency got in the way of those plans. Things are all good now, so I thought why not go ahead and release it a month later?

If you're a stitcher who likes to work on Christmas all year round, this is for you (and me)! If you like to stitch houses...here are 6 adorable houses.

If you like projects that move right along and finish quickly...check, check! Each little house feels like a small finish and keeps you motivated to move on to the next one. Before you know it, you're done :)

I even include a little Christmas tree as a bonus if you want to add a little neighborhood tree to the street.

Design Details:

I stitched my model on 32 ct. Baby's Breath linen by Weeks Dye Works.
I wanted something that felt warm and sort of "bakery" like, but I can see this working on a lot of different colors.

Stitch count 228 x 41

It uses Classic Colorworks (CC), Gentle Art Sampler Threads (GAST), and Weeks Dye Works (WDW) threads:

CC - Blushing Beauty, Crab Cakes, Brown Hen, Country Lane
GAST - Baked Clay
WDW - Louisiana Hot Sauce, Hazelnut, Chickpea, Whitewash, Goldenrod, Cocoa, (bonus only - Hunter)

I added a "houndstooth road" as a trim below the houses on my version. I used Weeks Dye Works Wool in Snow Cream Houndstooth (1096HT). I framed my model, but I think this would look great as a long pillow with the wool at the bottom.

Finished size:
As stitched on 32 ct. linen, it finishes at about 14 1/4" long and 2 1/2" tall for the stitching portion. If you include the wool "road" it's about 4 1/2" tall.

The nice thing about a design like this is the flexibility in how tall you want it to be. I gave myself a nice bit of sky above the houses, but you could easily do more or less. The wool trim could also be taller or shorter, depending on your preference. If you have a vintage or unused frame you want to use, it's easy to adjust the height to fit your needs!

Supporting our cross stitch shops and community is a primary concern for me, so I always encourage you to purchase my designs from your favorite local or online needlework shop. It's for this reason that you won't see my newest designs available for sale on my own website for a few months after they are released.
