Notes from market

We're back from our very first Nashville Needlework Market and all I can say is...WOW!

Thank you, thank you to all the shops who bought our designs, talked with us, encouraged us and made us feel so welcome! We sold out of several designs and I can't tell you how great that makes me feel. I can't stop smiling!

  • I'm working away even now to re-stock and ship out a bunch of orders.
  • We now have two distributors...Hoffman Distributing and Yarn Tree.
  • I got to meet lots of designers I've admired and even got some tips from a few of them. It was interesting to talk to a few that were there for their 2nd Market, and see how it compared to last year and being a newbie.
  • Can I just say...breakfast was great! I love breakfast anyway, but Embassy Suites does a nice breakfast buffet.
  • We brought our little Nespresso mini machine with us. That was a good decision:)
  • The format for this show is wonderful. As a person coming from doing "pipe-and-drape" retail shows, having your booth in your own room is fabulous. Set-up and especially take-down are so much more relaxed! And you can add a lot of personality to your displays, since you're not as limited on space.

We're already making plans for next year, but in the meantime, I've got a year of new releases planned! So, I'd better get back to work:)
