One color stitching never fails to grab my interest.
It seems like every few months I get an urge to stitch on something monochromatic. Sometimes it might be a small little sampler, like Ameline Sampler:
I enjoyed stitching the top half onto this little pin pillow:
Sometimes, I'm in the mood for something bigger. A piece that I can work on over a few months, like Shepherd Sampler:
This piece kept me company over a cold winter, and I thoroughly enjoyed every stitch.
Floretta Sampler was also a joy to stitch, partly because of the lovely silk floss by Gloriana that it calls for:
It's a shame I didn't realize I left a few leaves off that second row until a few months later! Although I totally think things like that add to the charm of a sampler.
I'm currently working on this piece:
It should be debuting at Nashville next year...so I'd best get busy stitching :)
I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
