It's stitched on 32 count Vintage Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens. I used 2 strands of Weeks Dye Works Navy, but I think this would look great in red, too.
I also stitched just the top half on a scrap of 36 count Dove by Weeks Dye Works, using a strand of Catnip silk by Victorian Motto. I finished it into a wee pin pillow.
It also includes a little bonus chart, which I stitched on 36 count Buttercream by Lakeside Linens using one of my favorite thread colors: Mississippi Mud by Thread Gatherer Silk 'n Colors.
Ameline Sampler is one of those "comfort stitches." It's all one color, so no changing colors or needles. And it's a nice size for finishing quickly, so you feel like you've accomplished something.
I love designing alphabets. It's always interesting to me to see how many different ways you can make a letter:) I originally thought this would be part of a larger design, but I liked it so much I just wanted to start stitching it!
Once I finished it, I knew it would be a perfect piece for showing off some of my favorite needle minders.
To make it magnetic, I found a tin sheet in the hobby section at Hobby Lobby that fit behind the right side just perfectly. Now I always know where at least a few of my needle minders are!
I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
